My Journey

First of all I would like to say a very big thank you for taking the time to look around my website and before you journey any further you may like to hear a little more about me so here goes!

Horses have been my passion for as long as I can remember and quite honestly I have no idea where it came from as I do not come from a horsy family but somehow or other they are part of my DNA! After my first childhood experience with a pony ( at about age 5) I was hooked and horses have become a life-long love affair.

I have shared my life with some very special equines who have shaped me, my values and my direction in the very best of ways.  I hope you enjoy a few family snapshots featuring Chance, Chabade, HesIvorTheDriver and my current reprobate, Peadar Miguel or Paddy Padstow to his friends!

I always knew that my heart lay in a career with horses and, with a deep interest in equine care, pursuing a career in equine therapy was a natural fit.  I initially trained in equine sports massage with the renowned Institute of Complementary Animal Therapies (ICAT) graduating in 2008 with distinction in all modules and I have run my own successful practice ever since.

Over the years I have added many other skillsets into my work including the Masterson Method, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques and trigger point therapy.  I also have an indepth understanding of the function of rehabilitative exercises meaning that treatment plans include groundwork and ridden exercises where applicable.

I am on a constant quest for knowledge and follow a programme of continuous professional development which sees me adding new skills on a regular basis – tools in the toolbox to ensure I can offer the best, bespoke treatment options for each and every horse I see.  I am insured to treat horses who compete in any discipline up to the value of £1,000,000 and I am a member of The Association of Complementary Animal Therapies (ACAT) which guarantees the very highest standard of care.

The Way I work & What I offer

I work on the soft tissues and joint function of your horse.  Every treatment is completely bespoke and tailored to your horse's specific requirements.

My approach is holistic, meaning that I always treat the whole horse, being aware that primary issues can lead to secondary compensatory issues.

In accordance with The Veterinary Surgeon's Act I work with veterinary consent and happily work as part of a team alongside other paraprofessionals with complementary skillsets.

The My Services and Treatment pages give you more detail about the therapy and what to expect from a treatment session, and if you have any specific issues with your horse the Signs to Look Out For page may help.

Heat and proprioception therapy is included as part of my therapeutic treatments sessions as needed.

 Additional Services:

  • One day Equine Massage for Horse Owners Course

  • Half day Pilates for Horses Workshop - core strength exercises for your horse

  • Equilibrium massage pad hire

There is no doubt that all of the above keeps me busy but it is fair to say I am definitely living my best life!
